Adri’s memories of her pregnancy and prenatal yoga

Do you remember what prenatal yoga gave to you? Why did you take part in the course every week, sometimes even twice a week?

Before my pregnancy, I actively practiced yoga one or two times a week, and I really wanted to keep it up, so it was great that you started your prenatal yoga course exactly at that time. 🙂

How do you feel, have these exercises had an effect on your baby?

My little one never had any trouble while yoga classes, I think the exercises cradled her just like walking. What’s good for the mommy is good for the baby in my view. Since she stood up, she has actively been doing downward facing dogs, the only problem is that it always happens when it’s already bedtime. She doesn’t want to sleep. 😀

And how about you?

Yoga has always given a pleasant feeling, and it is maybe thanks to this regular but not too demanding way of training that I didn’t have any symptoms most expectant moms meet, such as an ache in the waist, oedema feet, and only minimal leg spasms: I could handle them easily with your leg mobilizing exercises. Then after giving birth, I only rarely felt ache in my back, neck, and shoulders, and when I did some yoga exercises in a targeted way, and I felt good again. 🙂

How is yoga currently present in your life?

I couldn’t fit the 90-minute-long classes into my agenda, unfortunately. However, I started to do pilates a few weeks ago, which is quite similar, and I can feel that I still have my muscles in my legs, backbone and arms, thanks to the 10-12 years of active yoga, despite the fact that I haven’t had that much time for it in the past one and half year.

What do you like about Mevu’s prenatal yoga classes?

You pay much attention to not letting anyone exert oneself, and what’s more, the classes are very diversified and vitalize every part of the body. During the online classes, there was always a great overall mood. 🙂
